Foolproof Chicken Gravy
This foolproof chicken gravy is one of those staple recipes everyone should know. It's quick and easy enough to whip up, and it elevates any weeknight meal, whether it's pan-fried chicken breast, or mashed potato; but it's also delicious enough to accompany the centrepiece roast chicken or turkey on Christmas Day. You can make it using just chicken stock, or with chicken and vegetable stocks together (we reckon this is the best). Adopt this recipe into your repertoire and you'll never need to make another gravy recipe again.
Add the white wine, 400ml water, Vegetable Stock and Chicken Stock concentrates into a pan.
Bring to the boil and simmer gently for 5 minutes.
Add cornflour to quarter of a cup of water and whisk out any lumps.
Slowly pour the cornflour-water mixture into the pan.
Bring to the boil whilst stirring continuously and simmer for 5 minutes. Then serve.
Pro-tip: If you're roasting a bird, add the pan juices into the gravy at the end for that extra flavour boost!
