More of our Big Adventure

Another fantastic day on our Big Adventure. We departed the rather windy Wellington area on a big drive back to Taupo but this time going via Levin and the Desert Road.

It was a tad uneventful given most of the day was spent in the car. Our first stop was the Quarter Acre Cafe just south of Levin where we had a delicious lunch and great service.Next stop was in Levin for some shopping and we even purchased a scratchy card at the lotto shop and guess what; we won $50.

Next stop was for dinner and a swim at the 2 Mile Sailing Club. Probably one of the best located pizza spots in New Zealand, I reckon. We then checked into the Wairakei Hotel. The telephone in the room was a big hit with the kids something they don’t get to see very often these days.

It’s kind of neat being back here given it was the first kitchen I ever went into to as a young boy, which is where my love of Cooking started. We made a B line for the bar for some cocktails before an early night.
